Kind thanks,

Mark

Key: MV = Mark, SL = Stef, TM = Tarah, KK, = Katya, PA = Panorea
Shaded areas are holidays/ weekends

Notes:

  1. This timetable is provisional. Please check it a.s.a.p. and let me know if any dates or times do not suit you. Otherwise it is regarded as confirmed and cannot be changed.
Also please let me know your availability for November, as you write exams at end November
  2. For these first two months we will get you orientated, and massaging. If we get enough shifts, you may be massaging by beginning October.
  3. Please note the meeting times
  4. It’s realistic that some of these dates won’t happen due to weather. This is the procedure to follow:
You sms me evening before, ill let you know weather prospects.
You sms me again in early morning if there’s any doubt, and ill let you what’s happening here. Also, If I see a problem, I may sms you first, to avoid you coming though unnecessarily.
If there is no doubt, you pitch, on time
  5. Please note it can also happen that because eof the weather, some people can get time and others don’t, so if this happens really majorly, i.e. TM gets all shifts, and other days its all rain, then I will change things so you can all get orientated asap
  6. Because it’s cooler now, we usually we finish latest 6pm.
For these two months you pitch at my house at 830am, sms me or ring bell and ill open.
  7. We will load car and go to be beach to setup. Bring a book, studies, your apprenticeship books, a snack, and top for a change of weather.
  8. Be neat, clean and cool boardshorts if you can. If not plain shorts, Capri jeans acceptable, may get hot. Ladies, practical skirts are fine etc
I will give you top uniform

UPDATE: 24 September 2008-09-24

Hello everyone, the following news:

  1. Bon Aqua has renewed there sponsorship so we will have water for clients as from next weekend. We are waiting for Vida and CYBERSMART to respond to new proposals.
  2. There’s quite a bit in the pipeline from sponsors, massage opportunities, to credit card facilities, but id rather let you know more when and if these materialise. But its looking exciting.
  3. There is progress with the chairs, sandwich board, storeroom etc.
  4. There is a provisional timetable on the blog, please check. It is your responsibility to get back to me asap, if there is a scheduling problem. If not I assume you have conformed your availability. Please note we work on the principle that once you confirm, you are booked. We don’t chop n change, it becomes a logistical nightmare for everyone, and eventually causes a problem, So when you are booked, organised your life around that please.
  5. Please note we have a staff training session on this Wednesday coming. We will discuss updates, rate or pay, as well as carry on the lesson on Values. Please go over what we discussed before at the camp about marketing, advertising, value etcs. Panorea don’t worry we will get you to speed
  6. We do not work 1 January, or on the day of the Argus Cycle Tour, but please note, we do work Xmas and Boxing day.
  7. I have your client books, the books is which you record all your appointments. Please remind me for them. You will be shown how to write them up in your orientation
  8. Please, send me your mini CV, those of you who haven’t. Stef and Mariska can you please update yours. We will take mini photos, for the website, probably next week. Please include all your contact details, and your main email address. Your CV should mention your qualifications and present studies, any relevant experience, and your skills and interests. Don’t panic if you don’t have much on your CV currently. It only needs to be 200-400 words. There is a reason why I have asked you to do these.
  9. Last let me say, I am so thrilled to have you all involved for this season. There are ore people but there more possible opportunities coming to our door. I really believe you will have a great time, gain a lot and that MASSAGE ON THE BEACH will equally benefit from having you involved

News about this weekends camp

As you were informed last week, the camp is happening this weekend from Friday 12th till Sunday 14th.

Here are relevant details:
We will start 3pm on friday afternoon, meeting at vida cafe in Camps Bay.
The camp will finish by 12 on Sunday with a breakfast and final debrief. (I will let you know this week-friends and parents will either be invited to the breakfast or the dinner on the Saterday night before)

As we will be overnighting at my home in Camps Bay for the first day of the camp, you are Welcome to come to my home first at 230pm to drop off stuff there.
Depending on weather an dfinal arrangements to be made, we will be spending day 2 either in Camps Bay or in Hout Bay at the battery. I have to still confirm arrangments

You wont need much, but here is what you should bring:
  1. Duvet and pillow.
  2. Pyjamas or sleeping tracksuit
  3. Basic clothes for 2 days. If the weather looks good for the weekend, bring whatever you would wear to the beach.
  4. Some basic toiletries
  5. A small amount of cash just for personal expenses

Bring little, the less you have the less you ahve to worry about. We wont be in the middle of nowhere, so whatever we dont have , we will be able to organise.

You do not need to bring:

  1. Food (unless you wnat to bring a favourite snack)
  2. Massage bed or oils
  3. Pens or writing or books
You need to let me know the following:
  1. Confirm you are on the camp
  2. If you have any allergies, especially to dogs or food
  3. If you are vegetarian or if there is any food you do not eat
  4. If one of you can bring your car.

The aim of the camp is to use dedicated time to give you a combination of lessons and skills in massage and bussiness, whilst introducing you to Massage on the Beach and getting you be more familar with each other. The camp will balance work with fun, so fear not, this will not be the stuff of headaches. In fact, the aim is to give something of incredible value and a great memory.

To keep an element of suprise, i wont tell you eveything about the camp, but what I can tell you is that we will be covering some topics of massage, bussiness, teamwork and self mastery. You will receive details about the cirriculum of the apprenticship itself (See next posting). We will be covering some aspects of this on the camp.

Mariska and Stefan, your knowledge and experience will be used to contribute to the camp and there is a seperate, more advanced cirriculum for you that has been prepared to take your abilities further.

Have a great week

Mark
